He has multiple jobs. Like, in the hundreds. He is used often as a plot dump. I wonder if the PP writers happened to watch GG and thought "we need a Kirk equivalent"
He may be my favourite GG character.
Am I being unreasonable?

He makes up for the fact that Emily has never done a days work in her life. She got furious when Richard retired, got frustrated when he was ill and "hanging about the house" yet she can literally do whatever she wants, no costs too high, as a consequence of her husbands work.
