How to handle this constant nausea that is ruining my life?!

I have had severe stomach issues for nearly 2 issues - it started with severely bad acid reflux which then turned into problems swallowing, stomach pain, digestive issues and really bad and constant nausea.

I have had tests done and they think I have a rare condition, but waiting to undergo the ‘gold standard’ test to either confirm or rule it out completely.

I have tried every type of acid reflux medication and I’m currently on quite strong antiemetic’s after the first line ones didn’t work but the nausea is still at times (I would say 70-80%) of the time completely debilitating which has left me needing emergency hospital care, attempted feeding tubes etc.

I really am at my wits end with it all now, any tips on how to help this nausea and actually function a semi-normal life?!

When I get migraines I drink ginger ale to take the nausea. Works for me.

Nausea is horrendous, sorry your going through that. I had something similar a few years back and only thing that helped was combination of omeprizole and domperidone. I was advised by a pharmacist to cut back on the pepto bismal type meds. I was told they work similar to aspirin by reducing inflammation in the stomach in the short term but if taken regularly can actually cause irritation to the stomach. GP never mentioned that.

Other things I did was to suck on mints (look for one that containes actual mint oil not just flavouring).

Hope you feel better soon.
