There was a thing in the Times at the weekend on how a woman was looking forward to her children going back to school (“I love my kids but I’m so relieved the holidays are over”). Half the comments are that it’s CHILDREN not kids. Is it only me who finds this a weird thing to say? Apart from anything else, I’ll be surprised if the writer got to choose the title of her piece herself - it’ll be an editor.
