Loved this when it came out, it's not commonly played now but luckily popped into my head.

Any other bangers I'll have forgotten from back in the day? I'm late 30s btw so 90s are my jam

Did anyone else watch the 1990s themed Top of the Pops shows on BBC2 voiced by Mel Giedroyc? Not the TOTP reruns but the ones where they talked to the acts about appearing on the show. Some absolute TUNES on there that I’d forgotten about.

I’d totally forgotten this one

One of my favourites

Ooh yes to everything by The Counting Crows, also Matchbox 20.

CaveMum · 03/09/2022 22:18

One of the best films for 90s music nostalgia is The Worlds End.

Primal Scream
Blur
Suede
Pulp
Stone Roses
The Charlatans
Inspiral Carpets
and Kylie!

Scout2016 · 03/09/2022 22:19

@BirmaBrite I was torn between suggesting Carter, Stereo Mc's and Suede's Animal Nitrate...

Think I'm going to go for this, Dawn Penn No No No, (You Don't Love Me)

frozenorangejuice · 03/09/2022 22:19

Love this. DH and I have been working our way through the TOTP best of the 90s series on iPlayer and are having a fine time of it.

disconnected101 · 03/09/2022 22:20

McA&B were great together. Yes is a stone cold classic & it still gets played, but this from the same album is rarely heard and it's brilliant.
There's a great performance of Yes from Later...
TOTP reruns are currently on 1993. So many of the tunes mentioned here have been on to-date.

I feel that, crows!

The BBC documentary on each year of the 1990s is called “The Story of 199x”.

they’re all on iPlayer, link to the 1991 episode: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0015gft

A bit more obscure...anyone else remember Dogs Die In Hot Cars? Some great tunes.

This thread is a proper trip down memory lane. I saw sooo many of the mentioned bands live in the 90s. The Wonder Stuff were probably my favourite:

Funnily enough I added this to my 'liked songs' recently, so it's been having a resurgence of late chez truffles's car.

I think I might have to rebuy some Now albums. Now 23-27 should do it.
Noy unreasonable OP, great thread.
