Has anyone had pancreatitis, what did it feel like?

It is very, very painful. Medical treatment is essential.

Whatifitallgoesright · 03/09/2022 17:32

Massively painful. Like labour. I developed it after gallstone blockage. Ended up in hospital for six days. Go to A&E.

SavoirFlair · 03/09/2022 17:35

if you’re asking on here, it’s not pancreatitis

Go to A&E , and YABU. Mumsnet is not called “AIBU”.

I had it twice. First time I had all the bad signs. Second not one sign except for pain and stuff. No fever, just a pain and it only show up in the bloods. Both were caused by a gallbladder following up by removeral. And the second time was a gallstones formation via bile duct 13 years later

Extremely painful, like gallstone attack X10. I threw up quite a bit. Ended up in hospital for a week.

My mum got pancreatitis and ended up with diabetes from it and had surgery then had to have her spleen removed because of it, very painful and lots of medication required. Hope all is well for you Flowers

Dh has had it several times, it's extremely painful and treatment is essential in a hospital. First time he got it, his bowel became obstructed and I had to drive him to hospital immediately with him throwing up bile all the way. I genuinely thought he was going to die. Really scary.

It hasn't come back for close to a year now, thank goodness.

Extreme abdominal and back pain, lots of vomiting, clammy. By the time I got to A&E I was jaundiced and turning blue. Spent a week in hospital and got my gallbladder surgery scheduled for later in September. Was so painful my brain has blocked it out! It can be fatal, so get it checked out ASAP. Good luck!

Why are you asking? If it’s for yourself or a someone in real life, this is one of those times you absolutely need to seek proper medical advice. Quickly.
