I am on antibiotics now but it started a week ago with a tiny pinprick blister that I thought was from my sandals. It’s just got worse and worse over the week - then the doc yesterday did a photo/phone consultation & said it might be a bite.

Its been really burning too- the doc actually wasn’t worried & was reluctant to give antibiotics to start with but I said that I wanted some in case it got worse over weekend.

It was really burning & I couldn’t walk on it yesterday pm so started the antibiotics.

Never had anything like it though- any thoughts?

Cellulitis?? Especially if it's growing, hqsbit stopped growing since you got the antibiotics? I think you may need to see a dr

Upthebracket22 · 03/09/2022 09:23

@Lookingforrecommendations it hasn’t grown overnight & i have only just started antibiotics yesterday pm so early to work yet

Yes if it’s a bite that could be cellulitis - I get it almost every time I get an insect bite unfortunately (apparently once you e had it you’re more susceptible to getting again 🙄). You’ve got the antibiotics now though so should be fine, about 48 hrs to start making a difference. Do keep an eye on it though just in case you need longer or more targeted antibiotics.

@ParvuliThankYouDebbie thanks! I have 500 mg 4 times a day for 7 days so assume that’s a pretty hefty course- he was reluctant to give it to me but I am glad I insisted now

@ParvuliThankYouDebbie how long did yours take to clear when you had it?

I had something similar on my foot 15 years ago from my shoes rubbing. Became infected, so very sore, and couldn't walk. I actually think it is the most pain I have ever experienced (in a very weird way) but struggle to remember it now so much time has passed.
Antibiotics cleared it up.

Sahara123 · 03/09/2022 10:23

I don’t know what that is but I’m impressed that seemingly you can get your foot onto your worktop 😂

@Sahara123 ha ha ha!!!

I had a tiny sore on my heel from where my shoes rubbed a few months ago. Didn't think much of it but it very suddenly got painful and infected. Needed antibiotics and it was over the worst on about 5 days. I think you were right to get antibiotics for yours.

Another one appreciating how flexible you are!

Upthebracket22 · 03/09/2022 10:34

@NewHopeNow maybe this is just from my sandals & got infected! It starts off as a teeny pin prick blister last weekend & couldn’t work out why it wasn’t getting better despite plasters and antiseptic cream! So weird!

I thought it was a spider bite. See a GP.

Upthebracket22 · 03/09/2022 10:55

@SkiingIsHeaven yea I will go back Monday if they antibiotics haven’t helped
