I work in a law firm and generally get on ok with people. The team secretary has taken a dislike to me and sometimes at team meetings I see her mocking me. She is always the instigator and I see her nudging some of my colleagues, trying to stir or make fun of me. Once overheard her accuse me of being crazy and since then I can’t miss it. My approach has just been to ignore and kill with kindness. Anyone have any fun tips I can take onboard to make the day go faster?

She's a bully. Report her.

  1. call her out on it - 'could you just repeat what you said about me', 'you appear to have a problem with what I said, can you explain what your difficulty is?'
  2. Report her

Definitely this. Bully's need to be called out on their actions. Do not out up with it you really don't have to.

The irony that she works in a law firm!!

the hr person is best mates with her so unfortunately wouldn’t work! She is a bully… She never seems to say things overtly though just consistently laughs at nothing, all the time! She’s one of those people who laughs at everything, is very over the top, loves drama - can’t stand female colleagues.

I’m a lawyer and just get on with my job. She just doesn’t seem to like me. I really can’t call her out on it sadly.

She's probably jealous. Remember that.

ColdCottage · 01/09/2022 22:54

If you can't go to HR just give her loads of boring jobs that are within her job spec or send her to get things from miles away which would require loads of tube changes etc

Brigante9 · 01/09/2022 22:58

Of course you can call her out on it, stop thinking you can’t. Why would you let this slide? Get concrete details, log every incident then go to the head of the firm if the HR person is her mate. Stop letting this slide!

Thanks @ColdCottage any more like this would be great
