To think London wage won’t exist in a few years?

If I bought the same service in London and Liverpool then chances are the London one will be more expensive.

However, the person doing the London work could be someone who works remotely or hybrid and lives in Derby.

Covid really has changed the working world

For some jobs, yes, but for minimum wage or anything that requires being site based it won't change.

London weighting will still exist for plenty of jobs. There has already been many jobs even with offices that are done to support London businesses that are not based in London. I live in London and my local council at one point had their HR support in Northern Ireland, for example.

Ever heard of hybrid working OP? Of the way banking, auditing, accountancy, and other core London services are asking for part in person working practices to service clients and build culture?

Sweeping generalisations on this forum always get YABU from me. There’s just no evidence or anything about this post.

Yes I am hybrid and work in corporate finance. I understand a term that everyone else in the working world knows.

I won’t be crying over your YABU. I just thought it could have potential to be an interesting discussion.

Goodbye now
