I’ve hired a hall - it’s not a huge hall but I’ve been there before for a party and there was a bouncy castle. So I’ve hired one.

What other activities/things would you think of setting up?

I’m doing a help yourself buffet too.

I've done quite a few parry's like this over the years. You can't go wrong with a few traditional party games like musical statues, pass the parcel etc
Face painting could be an option too

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 01/09/2022 16:10

how many kids- if less than 10 do a pass the parcel and a pinata

I’d think of posting in Chat or another forum before posting in here, AIBU, the dilemna forum.

this is what I would do…

AIBU has lost all meaning these days, it seems...

I second games, lots of lively music. Red light, green light/musical statues is a simple game. I went to one just before the holidays, the child was turning five and the children loved having balloons to play with and kick/push about. The same group didn't eat at the soft play parties but we're like locust on the buffet.

Oh well you can both talk amongst yourselves while the rest of us engage.

Face painting / glitter tattoos

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/09/2022 16:31

How long is the party?

2anddonefornow · 01/09/2022 16:31

Craft station, maybe face masks, hats or party bag design. Tattoos are great and quick, kids love the glitter ones but they can take a while to do. Face painting. Decorate a cupcake. We went to one with pick a mix but the kids went crazy.

niceaspaella · 01/09/2022 17:02

The Aibu police have found you op 🚨😂

How kids have you got coming?

pass the parcel is good if not to many kids.

Can you rent any giant games for kids to play with? We have a local company that hires bits out

Lavenderessence · 01/09/2022 17:57

It’s a 2 hour party.

Not sure on how many kids yet, but I’d say at least 10, probably more.

I’ve got the bouncy castle booked, was thinking crown making with little gems possibly?

Tattoos are fun if you can recruit a mum friend, or sensible older child/teenager to sit there and plod through them.

With a bouncy castle, make sure there's plenty of jugs of squash out for the kids to drink. Pre-fill cups if possible, so shyer kids don't have to ask. Mine have always come home absolutely gasping from bouncy castle parties because there hasn't been enough to drink. Or only fizzy pop, which neither of my two like.
