Would you think this is a brush off?

I've always said to a friend of mine (who lives about 2h away) that it would be great to go and visit her.
She's never officially invited me or others (I have been, but it was around 9 years ago the last time!)
Anyway I decided to ask her if she's got any upcoming time off as I'd love to come down for the day (don't even have to go to her home, can just go to the town and id be doing all the travelling)
She said she's got zero free days for the next 3 weeks, then is off to the US for 10 days.
So she said October. As I work in school, I have the October half term free as well as weekends.
She told me, "Yeah that'd be great I'll get back to you with what date asap!"
This was about 5 days ago, no answer yet. She may not have her rota but I just feel deep down like she's not keen. October will come round and there'll be a reason why she can't.
The reason doesn't matter, it'll probably be the usual 'overwhelmed' yet no issues socialising with other people, but just want to know if I should stop bothering?

It could be a brush off or she just could be really busy. It's difficult to say, but maybe now that you've mentioned the October meet up just leave it for a while as the ball is in her court. I guess if she just doesn't reply then sadly it may mean accepting the friendship is over. You say you've known her a long time so the other option is to initiate an honest conversation about the issue.

You're right..if she doesn't have any free days between now and 31st October then call me cynical but that's bs.
I'll just leave it definitely..if she doesn't get in contact again about it, for instance to tell me when she's actually free, then I'll have a clear answer at least.
