Hi my 5 years old son recently started blinking his eyes and rolling and after 10 days he stopped blinking and rolling but he started moving his head at the same time screw his eyes up … we went to our pediatrician when he started blinking and rolling she said that it looks like tics, just ignore it but after 10 days when he started moving head and eyes up I just want to take second opinion so I took him to optometrist to check his eyes she said that he is having mild dry eyes ,using drops from last one week but still not improved his condition … is anybody have the same problem ?

Hi, can I ask if you ever got any answers from this? My daughter is 5.5 and started this about 3 weeks ago and it has gotten worse, very rapid eye blinking. I took her to the GP today (though I have requested a private Opthamologist and paediatric appt as my anxiety is through the roof). GP thinks it’s connected to chronic rhinitis (what comes out of her nose is not normal) and the allergies are making her eyes dry. I have a friend who is a GP and I have sent her videos and spoke to her also and she thinks the same but I am not convinced.

Hi, any update on this please

My son gets tics. A friend recommended magnesium supplements. He takes them daily and they really do work for him. If we ever forget for a day or two, the tics return, but stop once he starts taking them again. They take a few days to get into your system when you start taking them. Defintely worth a try - you can get them online.

My son's Tourettes began with blinking and eye rolling. It's quite a common early symptom.

Hi, this happened to my daughter 2 yrs ago back in our country. They said it’s bacteria. But I am not convince. I ask for 2nd opinion, the pedia said it might dyspepsia.

What she’s doing is like this, blink her eye together with tilting her head a little bit and then I tried to check her properly. I can see that her tummy move as well. It’s like she wants to do some burping or hiccups.

The pedia gave her some meds for dyspepsia. If I remember it right it’s like for acid meds. Then she’s not doing it anymore after 5 or 7 days.

Last yr it happened again, tried bringing her to pedia again, but that time she has this colds a slight fever. I told her what happened from the past 2 yrs. And she gave me prescription for gaviscon, then it goes away again. Now, it happened again, I bring her to GP, and the doctor said maybe her eyes and I need to make an appointment to the ophthalmologist, but I am not satisfied with what he said. I don’t know if I will give her same meds or not, I’m afraid to give her without the prescription.

She’s doing it for 3 weeks now.

Hello, do they need to take them everyday? As in daily? Otherwise, the tic will be back?? Sorry just worried.

This one right?

Yes it's a daily tablet. They work for my son but I guess it might be different for different children. He tried that one and also floradix liquid one (which was good but expensive).

I mentioned it to the GP years ago but they weren't too concerned. It was a friend who suggested the over the counter magnesium because they'd worked for her son. My son is a young teen now and the tics are fairly minor and largely kept under control. He's had episodes where they've been a huge problem so I'm pleased with how things are going.
