How would the courier know what's in the parcel?

Not sure but there is not much left! Also if your parcel is lost you have to send a receipt of what the items cost.

Might be simpler to say what they DO cover. But I'm not sure I understand your gripe.

Stangerthings · 31/08/2022 13:44

I know a receipt is not always possible but then they have got you anyway as they will not refund without a receipt. This post is really to make people aware.

Why does it have to be a gripe? I am simply trying to warn people.

Can you give a link to this list. I use them for eBay, but might change my mind.

Topseyt123 · 31/08/2022 13:50

Tend to agree. I must admit that my heart sinks whenever I find (often) that they will be the courier service.

@Stangerthings

oh ok. I don't send much these days, but when I did, we used a courier service and if changing always checked out if our stock was covered or not. I suppose with so many options these days, maybe people aren't so careful?!

goid to let everyone know.

my gripe with them is anytime a seller sends by Evri I get a hoax email telling me I need to pay for delivery. I ignore it & the parcels arrive, (so far anyway!! Expecting one next week) but it's scamming some people & who is doing the scamming? evri or are they careless with our details??

but it hurts my head too much to know what to do about it.

MyLifeIsFictional · 31/08/2022 13:51

You'll find that all couriers have a similar list. 🙄

They have a similar list for damage but not if the parcel is LOST!

DPD has an identical list:

www.dpdlocal-online.co.uk/prohibited-items

Yodel's is also similar:

I once had an evri driver refuse to give me a parcel because I wasn't a woman. My surname is a common woman's name, and it was addressed Initial. Surname.

He took the parcel away.

It never got returned to the person that sent it and I never saw it again. It was an expensive item that I'd left at a venue and they couriered back to me. Never got a satisfactory resolution

Yes - because you shouldn't be sending those items via that courier in the first place.

chillipenguin · 31/08/2022 13:57

Use a courier that does cover those items then?

How ridiculous

abblie · 31/08/2022 13:59

What's the point in them having a delivery service 🤣🤣🤣 they are the worse and I mean worse delivery service in the uk

Christmasiscominghohoho · 31/08/2022 13:59

If you sell the item online then you have proof of transaction.

Id imagine a lot of it is to do with people not packaging fragile items properly so they break easily and they get the blame. It encourages people to wrap it up a bit better too.

Iv sent 50+ parcels with evri this year. One went missing and I got a refund easily enough.

chillipenguin · 31/08/2022 14:00

DPD'S list includes human flesh... bizarre people out there

I know right! I stopped reading the list at that point.

In summary you can send well packed textiles, shoes and books via Evri but not if they are antique.
