I know I'm massively overreacting but I'm annoyed.

My partner asked me to make him a new dish for dinner. I went to the supermarket to get the new ingredients, learned the recipe, and stood in the kitchen for like two hours prepping everything.

He has been playing video games all day (he wfh, went online, worked for 30 mins, attended an online meeting with his boss, got off, and straight to the video games). I took care of the baby all day, handed him to him while I'm cooking. He held him for ten minutes max. Went to take a 5 minutes break while the food was cooking. He hands him over to me and asks if I can take him please (for no other reason that he was disturbing his gaming).he has his headphones on and his legs crossed on the table. I ask him to please remove his feet so I can sit down and grab the baby. He says no, he's too comfy.

😡😡

he sounds very rude

What an absolute man child

IWasFunBeforeMum · 30/08/2022 20:54

What a prick. Nip this gaming shit in the bud. All these grown men spending their lives on games instead of stepping up.

EmmaH2022 · 30/08/2022 20:55

You’re under reacting! But it sounds like a norm in your home. Why you want to spend two hours cooking for this guy is beyond me.

Catch21 · 30/08/2022 20:56

What a prince

Sunnyqueen · 30/08/2022 20:59

Put his dinner in the bin and order yourself a fat takeaway. Time it just right so you have binned it just before your takeaway arrives.

LimboLass · 30/08/2022 21:08

And out comes the plug from the wall socket.

Frezzos · 30/08/2022 21:25

Thank you all
i thought I was being a drama queen because he told me I was overreacting

What the hell are you doing? He's dreadful. I wouldn't be cooking to order, the lazy twat can do it himself.

chipsandpeas · 30/08/2022 21:39

I wouldn’t cook anything for him ever again

Frezzos · 30/08/2022 22:42

He got me flowers to say sorry

But is he going to step up and parent his own child?

Willowrose63 · 30/08/2022 22:44

We need to have a serious chat about this
He used to be involved in the beginning, no idea what happened. Our child is 3 months old and for the past month he just seems to have given up

For gods sake women. Stop being doormats to your immature selfish man boys.
Ive seen so many posts from women on MN like this , who put up with this utter selfishness from the “ men “ in their lives. Stop allowing them to treat you like their bloody mummies 🤦‍♀️

Definitely have a chat about it. Much more important than cooking elaborate food
