I usually get my hair done every month, colour etc. gutted as I have a wedding on Friday and cannot get into the hairdressers. Anybody used any temp colours or am I just being ridiculous. Had hair done 4 weeks ago

I thought you were going to say it was your wedding! I wouldn’t do a home colour if you’re used to salon.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 30/08/2022 11:41

If you're not the bride YABU. Most people go way longer than a montg, I'm sure it'll be fine. I wouldn't be reaching for a box dye, much better to source another hair dresser if it can't wait.

Jarstastic · 30/08/2022 11:46

Try wow powder

amusedbush · 30/08/2022 11:50

Definitely don't do a box dye, it could react with the hairdresser's dye when you're next there and cause you massive problems.

This might sound like a silly question but it will help people suggest options - why do you dye your hair? Is it just because you like the colour or are you covering lots of grey? Are your roots a dramatically different colour?

SeaToSki · 30/08/2022 11:51

If you are covering grey, then get a touch up spray or powder, they work really well

Windbeneathmybingowings · 30/08/2022 11:52

If you are going to have a line of white hair at the root, get another hairdresser to do it.

If not, leave it and wait till your hairdresser can do it.

Danglife · 30/08/2022 11:54

It’s blonde and I do have a few greys, any root touch up sprays/powder recommendations would be great!

I like Bumble and Bumble or Moroccan oil dry shampoo spray they come in a range of colours. Quick spray covers my grey and don't transfer as much as the cheaper ones. Colour wow another excellent one

edwinbear · 30/08/2022 12:38

I used L'Oreal Magic Retouch sprays over lockdown (also blonde), they were fab and could get them easily in Sainsburys.

Wear a fascinator.

Hoolahulahoop · 30/08/2022 12:50

Got to a decent chemist and get the spray root touch ups. If it's only 4 weeks since then I think you are overthinking this and you will be perfect with a bit of spray / pretty hairband etc

TopGolfer · 30/08/2022 12:51

Could you have a play around with your parting to hide the roots? I wouldn’t mess about with home colour.

Danglife · 30/08/2022 13:00

I think I’m just getting flustered as all the women seem to be booking in for spray tans, hair, makeup etc. I haven’t done any of that.

Don't worry about that - I didn't even do that for my own brother's wedding last year! I did go to a little local salon for an up-do (because I'm dyspraxic and I style my own hair like I don't have thumbs 😅) but I did my own make up and the most exciting product I put on my body was deodorant.

I'm sure you'll look lovely on the day!

Is it 2004?

neverbeenskiing · 30/08/2022 13:22

Do not be tempted to box dye! Clairol Root Touch up powder is good and comes in a little box with mirror and brush to touch up throughout the day if you need.

Danglife · 30/08/2022 13:31

I’ve ordered one, thanks ladies 🥰
