To use my child's moisturiser on my sunburn?

I stupidly sunburnt my arms and legs today. I can't believe I was so stupid. I was so concerned about making sure my 3 dc were covered that I forgot about myself. I'm very red and quite uncomfortable. I've only got Childs Farm baby moisturiser, should I just use that? I've not got aftersun. Anything else I could uses? I've got young kids so I've got plenty of kid related creams (sudocrem etc.) Help!?

Plenty of cold water would be best.

Yes, use the baby moisturiser.

Moisturise with what ever you’ve got - Childs farm is fine and just keep moisturising as much as possible to prevent peeling

Why would you need to put this in AIBU? Did you really need to ask? It's moisturiser. Of course! Use it! It's better than nothing! Probably pretty similar to aftersun or any other kind of lotion and likely gentler too.

Dab with white vinegar and air dry or add one cup of vinegar to lukeaarm bath water
Milk dabbed on
Camomile tea dabbed on
Oatmeal bath

Drink plenty of water

Sudocream is great for sunburn

Thank you all. I've put on plenty of the baby moisturiser.

That's helpful @Glorieta thank you!

@adhdforme I know, was a bit cheeky for me to post in aibu, just wanted a quick response 😳

Plain yogurt is cheap and v effective for sunburn

ThinWomansBrain · 29/08/2022 22:39

sounds weird, but soak lettuce leaves in warm water - when they go limp, lay them on the sunburn.
Really takes the sting out.
Used it in the 70-s - that summer of '76 enhanced by slathering my skin in coconut oil to enhance my tan.
Been more sensible since, haven't needed to use it.

Keep the moisturiser in the fridge and reapply as needed, really did the trick for DH when we didnt have any aftersun... hope it is better soon
