Would you wake DD?

She had a late night last night but woke up at usual time, she napped off on the sofa about 90 minutes ago. Tried to wake her for dinner but she was having none of it, cried until she fell back asleep. Do I just put her straight into her bed? Wake her and insist she eats? I’ve got pregnancy all-day sickness and feel like crap so option 1 is tempting but feels mean!

How old is she?

Wouldloveanother · 29/08/2022 18:34

Sorry, she’s 3

I'd put her to bed but prepare myself for an early start! Good luck!

I'd put her straight to bed instead of making her eat but only because that's what would work best with my son of a similar age.

Leave her be, get ready for a super early wake up tomorrow!

Wouldloveanother · 29/08/2022 18:46

Ok that’s the plan then! Thanks all

If you leave a covered dish of finger food beside her bed, it may prevent the early rising. I used to leave a bottle of formula or a tupperware dish of peeled apple slices or cheerios on the table beside the bed. My LO would wake up, see the food, eat the food and fall back to sleep for an hour or two.

bakewellbride · 29/08/2022 19:20

I personally wouldn't do this due to the choking risk.

Thanks everyone, in the end she woke up and demanded her chicken curry 😳 which she merrily ate and is now having a bedtime story with DH. Something tells me she will take a while to drop off…

Bless her! Also I know I'm missing the point but I'm jealous your child eats curry, mine wouldn't be that adventurous!

Oh there’s plenty she won’t eat believe me 🤦🏼‍♀️
