To not know: do I need to see a doctor?

I found a very small lump between my armpit and right breast. It seems to be quite deep rather than a surface spot and I think it might be a raised lymph node.

I don't really want to go the GP if I can avoid it due to having another condition that makes doing so difficult. I've thought about self referring for a private one stop breast clinic appointment but wonder whether a GP would do a blood test first and whether it's even necessary. Are there any GPs on this forum who could advise?

Not a GP. I would seriously think about doing the self referral at the moment. If it is easier for you. (It is next to impossible to get GP appointments here at the moment. (Due to holidays and sickness and so on)

If it makes your life easier then do whatever stops the worry, and you can afford and is easy for you.

I do think you should have the lump investigated, Roses, if only to put your mind at rest. It won't hurt or take long but don't ignore it.

Get it checked out
If you can afford private, and you’re more comfortable with that option, then that’s fine
or the GP
but please get it checked out
Really hope that it’s nothing to worry about x

Could you ask your GP for a phone consultation? I appreciate they won't be able to see/feel the lump for themselves but they should still be able to complete any referrals.
