... To wash "non wash" memory foam pillows?

Apologies for shamelessly posting for traffic

We bought stupidly expensive memory foam pillows when we bought a new mattress.
Despite using pillow protectors, the pillows are looking a bit manky.

THEN I discover "do not wash" labels.
Will they be completely ruined if I bung them in the machine?

Can memory foam pillows be washed in the washing machine? No, memory foam should not be put in the washing machine unless specified otherwise. Memory foam is like a sponge, and if put in a washing machine, it will become waterlogged and damaged. If you have to wash your memory foam pillow, spot-clean it.

Well if you do and they become ruined I hope you are not going to claim that you did nothing wrong and want replacements. I am all for freebies but that is disingenuous behaviour quite frankly.

You will wreck your washing machine. The weight of two sodden memory foam pillows will exceed your machines capabilities.

Oops I've literally just ordered a memory foam pillow in the sale. Following this thread with interest. Could they be dry cleaned?

Where do I imply I'm after a free pair of pillows? It might have occurred to you, but it didn't to me.

In the interim, I have Googled and agree that it's a VERY BAD IDEA.
I might vacuum them and air them on the rotary line

I washed mine in the bath. Then squashed them and put them in the sun on a drying rack.

Took about two days to dry, but came clean in the end.

Oh my god 🤣🤣

What a conclusion to jump to.

I washed our memory foam bath mat once, the WHOLE THING disintegrated inside the cover (picture teeny tiny rice-size pieces of sponge EVERYWHERE) and I had to run several empty loads in the washing machine to get it all out 😩 I can only imagine a whole pillow would be a disaster

Who is ever going to see the foam? It’s under pillow protectors and pillow cases. Forget it.
