Many industries are struggling for staff due to people leaving through burn out, NHS, teachers, pharmacy, vets.
I work in one of these industries whilst hours worked in covid is part of this a very large part is how customers/clients treat the staff.
Due to staff shortages yes you have wait longer, all of us working are trying very hard to make this work the important time critical stuff always get done, the routine less time sensitive takes longer. We are working hard to recruit more people and are really doing our very best.
An example is a client bawling me out on the phone and describing every professional in my industry as 'lazy' not just stating once, but berating me for it over and over again - me who is currently working 54 hours a week to keep my service running. Honestly I came off the phone and sobbed.
Could we all just not try a little harder to be polite and perhaps the burn out would be less.
