Does anyone have experience of Spire health one-stop breast clinic?

Yesterday I found a pea sized lump between my breast and my armpit (i.e. a raised axillary lymph node). I have looked up local private clinics and Spire hospitals offer one-stop breast clinics, does anyone have experience of one?

Yes! I had a mammogram there and was recalled the next day, told to bring someone with me. Was awful. There was shadow and I needed lymph node biopsy. One week later returned to find all ok.
2 months ago I was referred there by gp for new lump. They were excellent. First saw consultant who did examination, then mammogram and ultrasound of lump. A short wait and back to see him. Again all was ok.
It would have been a 4 week wait for nhs but gp referral on Monday and a call on Tuesday and fitted me in after work
Good luck and I found them very good.

Thank you, that's really helpful but I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that, it sounds frightening.

I had a NHS 2 week breast clinic referral when I was 30/ 4 years ago but I would prefer to avoid going through the GP again- did Spire need a GP referral?

My boss had a great experience in the Cardiff one. Advised me to use them when I found a lump, luckily by agreeing to be seen at another health board I was able to get an NHS appt quickly. Boss had nothing bad to say about her service at all and was happy she'd paid.

You may be able to self refer at some. I needed to go through gp to get it on my insurance.

Thank you Bibithree and scochran. I trying to work our whether to be concerned enough about this lump to see someone or not really but it's great to know that the Spire clinic is a good option.

I went to a BMI one stop clinic recently. It took a lot of the stress out. Saw the consultant, had my mammogram and back to the consultant. Barely took an hour and (thankfully), had the all clear and went home.

I'd hate to have the test and be feeling nervous every time the phone rang waiting for the outcome.

Just wanted to add at UHSM they have their own one stop clinic called the nightingale centre. Have been twice for breast lumps. Its a 5-6 HR day but you know all the results prior to leaving. That's on the NHS! Check first that your area doesn't have a similar service
