To want to keep sick son away from family gathering

We're supposed to be going to a family gathering tomorrow overnight to celebrate my FILs bday. MIL passed recently so it's quite a big deal.

Eldest son (2) has been sick a few times since Thursday, barely eaten and not drinking much. He's very lethargic tonight and has just been sick again.

I want to keep him home with me and H can take our other child who is well.

AIBU for wanting to do this?

I really don't want to care for a sick baby at someone else home and actually think I should take him to see a doctor if he's still like this.

Of course you shouldn't take an ill child to the gathering - it's not fair on him, or the others that he might pass on the illness to.

Isn't there a risk, if it's a bug, that your DH and other child might be infectious?
