Booked a holiday on my credit card for me and my 2 friends for September but it's went viral on TikTok that the hotel isn't safe and there's robbery's

Tui only offered back 50% so now put in a claim to my credit card last week they haven't got bk to me is it possible to get my full money back

I doubt it. You can’t claim back because of a social media post by a third party.

Theonewiththecandles · 26/08/2022 20:42

No you can only get refunds where the merchant is unable/unwilling to provide the goods or service you purchased. You choosing not to go is your own choice, sorry.

dementedpixie · 26/08/2022 20:42

Doubt it
Change of mind is unlikely to be covered

SausagePourHomme · 26/08/2022 20:48

your credit card agreement normally protects you where you haven't received the goods or services you've paid for. I think it would be unlikely that this includes you changing your mind because of bad reviews. I do sympathise though, could you try to change hotels instead?

wdgy · 26/08/2022 20:52

Tui doesn't have other hotels in that party area in those dates they just replied saying there are safes in each room which I don't feel comfortable using

Did TUI offered the refund based on the tiktok or was it standard cancellation procedure?
I am guessing the latter.

No, card will not refund you on hotel with ok reviews because someone made a tiktok video claiming their friends were burglared. Of course

wdgy · 26/08/2022 21:11

Standard cancellation procedure

Of course they won't. It is you choosing not to go because of something on tiktok.

Honestmary · 26/08/2022 21:36

Your card wont refund you in this situation and if you don’t want to accept the 50% refund, I suggest you ask TUI to change hotels. This may come at a cost, however I don’t imagine it will be as much as 50% of what you would lose.

Ok thanks
