To be wanting to change gyms

I have been a member at a ladies only gym ( Curves but under a different name) for several years and am becoming rather fed up with the limited opening hours, repetitive annoying music - other members who just stand around nattering and one particularly rude staff member who simply says a half hearted 'hi' and then sits at the desk reading! When she is on shift she closes the gym 30 minutes earlier than closing time and always has the heaters on.

I think this gym is best suited to beginners (like I once was) and/or to those who have time during the weekday daytimes to go there.

Not really sure why I'm posting this but if I hear the Grease soundtrack or Wipe Out by the Fat Boys with the Beach Boys one more time, I will scream. I cannot work out to this sort of music!

Change. It doesn't sound like it's suiting you, and there are plenty of options.

Personally, a ladies only gym has never appealed. Mostly my own issues with feeling more judged by my peers than by men. Or perhaps I'm the wrong sort of gym goer to attract unwanted comments from men, so haven't seen a negative in a mixed gym.

I couldn't tell you what music my gym plays though...I hear it for about 30 seconds before my earphones are in.

People all hanging around talking would bother me. Heaven forbid they try to talk to me...I don't want to be at the gym anyway, let alone be social 😂

@KupoNutCoffee thanks. You're right, it doesn't suit me anymore. There is a 24/7 gym around the same distance away and for the same cost. Also includes classes, showers and air con! No brained really.

Change gyms! Your needs have changed and now you’re confident to use a regular gym.

I used to go to a lovely privately run gym. It closed and I moved to a chain commercial gym (not the 24/7 brand though) and it’s been a complete game changer. What other members do there is inspiring and everyone is really supportive and friendly.

I was doing a really tough workout with a PR the other day and other members and staff were cheering me on.
