Cannot figure out the issue, is it me or him?

My husband is hard working loving dad to our 2 Girls but lately every evening he is so short tempered and just argue abt small things and next thing you know it is full on Monty. Nothing in particular has changed in our lives lately so I cannot figure out what it can be. He does drink every night but never over the limit so dont know if its alcohol or not. He does get very defensive if I mention to cut down on alcohol.

I really do not know what to do. It has started affecting our family life. I dont want to walk away from marriage but do not know how to help. We do not have any family around for support either so becomes difficult to discuss with anyone.

Any advice will be grateful. Btw he is 42 and I am 43.

Thanks

He drinks every night and he is short tempered?
Those are serious issues which can affect the happiness of your children’s childhood. It merits a conversation.

There could be a whole range of issues causing this. If you talk to him at a less pressured time what happens? Like, weekends or evening times before he gets tetchy?

Drinking can be a cause or a consequence of issues. It never helps but in itself it doesn't tell you much.

I tried to have conversation but he just cant take it seriously. He knows it is possible issue but admitting it and actually working to change seems to be harder. I want to help but really do not know how.

Can he actually not drink for a couple of days? If not, or he refuses, then you know what the problem is.

To answer your question. Its not you.

He will agree not to drink and can go without a drink for 2 or 3 days but it wont last for more then 3 weeks max.
We have everything to be happy and enjoy life. Just 1 things seems to ruining everything.
