I have gastritis and not for the first time. I dont drink loads of alcohol but definitely a couple of glasses a couple of times a week and been advised by dr to knock this on the head, at least for a bit.

At work I glug diet coke which also made dr wince as is caffeinated and fizzy and basically need some new habits. I think I treat all drinks like my mum used to treat fags - there’s a bit of a ritual / treat involved and I want to find something in addition to all the water I already neck to add a bit of variety and sense of it being a nice little break for five mins or a treat at the end of the week. Quite like green tea… any other ideas?! X

Peach tea is my favourite flat drink.

UniquelyBoring · 25/08/2022 17:38

Mango smoothie

mrcow · 25/08/2022 17:38

Any flavoured green tea.

Water with infused lime and cucumber. Or apple and lemon. On ice.

Ordinary tea doesn’t have much caffeine in it and could be a good half way between giving up completely otherwise Peppermint tee is nice. And both are available nearly everywhere

SheWoreYellow · 25/08/2022 17:42

Fruit tea, or proper (decaff) coffee made in a cafetière etc

Facefortheradio · 25/08/2022 17:43

The Robinsons squash in glass bottles (for grown ups) is lovely.

They do a mint and lime one and a raspberry, rhubarb and orange blossom which are both nice.

kimchifox · 25/08/2022 17:44

Posh squash? DD got some Robinsons cordial the other day that was more interesting than the usual flavours in a posher glass bottle. Coconut water? Kombucha? Lots of other cordials out there - elderflower etc. Jazz it up with some ice-cubes!

KangarooKenny · 25/08/2022 17:46

M&S do a couple of adult cordials, found in the alcohol aisle.

Saucery · 25/08/2022 17:48

Bottlegreen cordials are nice, especially the elderflower.

I've recently started doing cold-brew tea, which is really nice - fruit/herbal teas don't have caffeine, though I suppose any of the black/green ones will. My favourite has been a cherry-flavoured oolong.

chillipenguin · 25/08/2022 17:49

Redbush tea

gogohmm · 25/08/2022 17:53

Lidl peach and barley squash is nice. Twinnings green tea and lotus flower is lovely. Pukka chamomile, ginger and honey.

Tonic water with slice of lime?

yonce · 25/08/2022 17:54

Homemade lemonade - I jazz it up all the time, watermelon lemonade, strawberry, lime and strawberry, peach lemonade etc. Coffee free pumpkin spice latte (basically the pumpkin spice seasonings and hot / ice milk), chai tea (spices and milk only, no caffeine).

JustTheOneSwan · 25/08/2022 17:55

Tesco Apple and elderflower high juice is my current fave.

forinborin · 25/08/2022 17:55

Homemade kombucha? You can make it tea based to, or basically with any flavour. Fun to grow too.

I was going to say bottle green too. I like the lemongrass and ginger one.

Flippinghecklike · 25/08/2022 18:08

Amazing! Lots of ideas thanks so so much

Vimto have a wider range now, we have 4 different flavours we alternate between.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 25/08/2022 18:14

Bubble tea? Bit more treat-y (and calorific) than some of the above, but a bit special and can be done at home.
