My mum got some inheretence so she bought a static caravan for herself, me and my sister to go for breaks together. When we went to view the caravan the site owners were very friendly and they were very welcoming when we first stayed there.
However this changed when my mum told them that she bought the caravan for me and my sister to study in. This wasn't entirely true but what she meant is that it is a quiet place for us to do our work in. After that the site owners attitude completely changed towards us. Our neighbors who were very friendly at first also became hostile towards us and said 'you bought an expensive caravan to study in' so the site owners had clearly been gossiping about us.
The site owners and our neighbors have also made other comments to us such as 'you bought an expensive caravan that you never use' and 'have you only come here to cut the grass'.
We don't stay at the caravan regularly as me and my sister both have to work and my mum has got agoraphobia so it is hard for her to get there often but we do stay for about a week at a time when we manage to get there. It is supposed to be a holiday park so I don't understand why they have such a problem with how often we stay there. The comments and hostility are really starting to get to us. AIBU to say anything?
