I have two energy suppliers.... where will the £400 energy discount get paid?

Sorry, posting for traffic as I am in a bit of a frazzle. I am failing trying to make a financial plan and prepare the rising costs of living and remembered the £400 support payment. I am in a new build, only electric no gas, currently pay British Gas for my electricity via direct debit on a fixed rate and a smart meter with Insite energy for heating which I top up as and when needed.

I have not had any communication from either company yet so will make a call to see, but in the meantime would be grateful if someone had any wisdom as I am trying to not spiral into an anxiety inducing rabbit hole...

Is on-site energy a community/communal energy partnership hub thing? If so they're unregulated (not subject to the cap etc) and so I'd expect the payment will go to your British Gas account.

The flat I live in is the same, electric through normal supplier and heat/hot water through a communal energy partnership.

British Gas will be dividing it up from October to March at £60 something a month.

Which will obviously lessen if you’re with two utility companies.

Usually things like warm home discount etc all get put on electricity as everyone has electricity but not e eryone has gas so I would assume the same.

We get electricity from British Gas and heating/hot water from a district energy supplier (like you do from Insite). Had an email from British Gas a couple of days ago saying that it will be administering the £400 discount. I expect you’ll get an email from British Gas shortly.

Agree with PP and I recall hearing it will go to Electricity as everyone uses that.

British Gas have confirmed ours is going towards electric & will be paid into our bank account not long after the direct debit has come out ('like a refund' they termed it). I'll be paying it straight back into the gas account so I can put the central heating on when I need it!

We're with EDF and they have said they if you are only with them for Gas then your payment will come from your Electricity provider.
