Just moved into my first home was wondering how I go about getting blinds is it better for someone to come and measure and fit them
Or are they easily done by yourself ?
Is there any types you recommend

Depends how handy you are. I've always got done one around to measure & fit.

Go on a blinds company website such as Blinds2go and they have measuring videos. It is much cheaper to measure yourself and order than to get measure/supply/fit done.

Blinds2Go are great and you can get free samples.

Hilarys send someone round to measure up and they then come back to fit

John Lewis used to have a similar service

Or contact a local made to measure blind company and they'll have someone to fit

Or go to ikea, buy a blind slightly wider than you need and cut it to fit your window

Definitely don't go to anyone like Hilary's of you're on a budget. Better to go online and then get a handyman round to fit them if you don't feel confident with DIY.

We have a really decent local company that does made to measure blinds at a good price. Definitely worth seeing if there's anyone local to you.

Blinds2go were great. Easy measure guide then took dh 10 mins to fit. Getting those plus odd job man could be a good mix?

Definitely Blinds2go. I have their blinds on all my windows, a mixture of roller, day and night, faux wood venetian and romans. I measured and fit them all myself (bar needing another pair of hand to help fit the rather wide venetians). Quality is really good, price brilliant compared to the likes of Hillary’s and they have a very vast range of designs and fabrics.
