Womens V Mens chat?

I had a look at the message boards on Dadsnet earlier. My goodness they’re not a patch on the Mumsnet boards! I was trying to figure out why that is. For a start, I don’t think they think ‘AIBU?’ as much as we do. Plus we talk more and discuss our feelings more easily (generalisation but true)

I know there are lots of men on mumsnet too, but AIBU to ask - how does women’s chat and banter differ from mens? What conversation could you never imagine two men having for example? Just for shits and giggles 😊

I think we ask for reassurance more and ask others to help us analyse social situations (I’m a woman).

I can’t comment on all men but DH will talk sport, golf, work (if forced). He could come back from a long weekend with an old mate and I’ll ask after their family and he’ll look blank and say, oh we didn’t talk about them.

My chat with friends is far, far more based on families, lived experiences and shared interests and feelings.

Chalk and cheese but it works for us.
