Hi op I am not an expert. The memory at 4gb is ok but not massive but should be ok for school work. Hp is a good brand I have one and it has been amazing and lasted ages. The weight and battery life look very good if she is going to be moving around with it. The thing that concerns me about this laptop is the screen size at 11 inches is pretty tiny but you can always buy a separate monitor at 21 inches for stationary tasks.

No its not very good, an Intel celeron processor , only 4GB of RAM, and 64GB slow storage which will be soldered onto the motherboard. You get what you pay for.

If I was buying one I'd be looking at an i5 processor, at least 256GB of storage and at a minimum 8GB of RAM, though 16GB would be better.

I'm sure someone will be along to recommend models, I've always gone Lenovo or Dell though I hear a lot of good things about Asus laptops.

This, and at least a 13 inch.
