14:10 diet instead of 16:8?

Does anybody do the 16:8 and find it effective? Any tips? I'm thinking of doing 14:10 to start, I just don't think I can jump straight into 16:8. Any tips? I just want to lose about 4kg

I started with 16:8 but ended up with a shorter eating window. I have lunch at 12:30 and supper at 6 and then I’m done. Lost nearly a stone at the start and don’t really think of my weight now, I lost half a stone due to illness recently and it’s stayed off.

Give it a go and see how you get on.

That's great it worked well for you, well done!
I'll start on 14:10 and see how I get on.
Do people do it 7 days a week?

I've lost nearly 3 stone since January. I probably could have lost more but struggled in June and July to lose anything. When 16:8 works, it really works but it is a lifestyle.

I also meant to add I do it 7 days a week but bring my non fasting time in earlier in the weekend as I like a nice bunch!

I’m planning to start 16:8 soon - I’m just bedding in keto first which is going really well.
I think starting 14:10 then moving to 16:8 is great.

I started this year and i began with your plan. I mostly do 16:8 now and like it as a lifestyle, I'll keep it up, but this week I started pushing it more to 20:4 to try to spark some weight loss. I like it as a doable way of living.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 21/08/2022 21:04

Never heard of it. I have only heard about the 5:2 (and sometimes people do the the 4:3 if they want a speedier weight loss, but it's harder to stick to.)

diamondpony80 · 21/08/2022 21:23

16:8 doesn’t work for me as I still manage to eat too much in that window. I prefer 20:4 or even OMAD but that can take a while to get used to.

It's really just a matter of skipping breakfast isn't it?

Rosehugger · 21/08/2022 21:34

You have to eat less as well. I just find it easier to eat less if I skip breakfast, as eating breakfast makes me eat more all day.

MrsJBaptiste · 21/08/2022 22:28

I eat between 12-8pm and only eat 1500 calories within that window (TDEE is 2000)

I find that skipping breakfast sets me up to eat better that day, more so if I've been to the gym first thing in the morning. Then after 8pm, that's it so no tea and biscuits in the evening which can only be a good thing!
