AIBU not knowing nephew had an engagement party?

I’ve just found out that my nephew had an engagement party 3 years ago and it was never mentioned to me. Totally up to him and his fiancée who they invited (I’m invited to their wedding next month).
My AIBU is that it was never mentioned to me by my brother/sis-in-law/niece, no back story, see each other regularly, all get on, also I get on with sis-in-laws family who were all there and would have thought one of them might have asked where I was.
Should I just let this go or ask why, I don’t want to put a damper or an atmosphere at the forthcoming wedding, just a bit miffed that it seems to have been kept a secret from me.

I would let it go. I think asking would only cause some bad feeling.

Was it an Engagement party for your nephews friends only, or did family attend?

My ex husband was asked 30 years after our wedding 5 years after we were divorced why they ( his second cousin) where not invited to his wedding. No idea what he said to that but reason was if after 3years of me knowing him and his famliy I had not met them and if he did not want them there . They were not invited. Only 80 invited cheap wedding most guest where his famliy and freinds .
