Typical first time mum syndrome here so apologies if this is a really stupid question!
Daughter is 6 months old and hasn't cried any actual tears yet. Her eyes do become very sightly watery when she gets upset but never any actual tears.

Should I call the GP or is this normal?

Sorry for the ridiculous question!

No experience but I would say, if in doubt, always ask a healthcare professional.

Congratulations on your baby. From what I can remember babies don’t cry real tears straight away, I can’t quite remember when they do though. Maybe ask the health visitor? Don’t ever apologise for being a first time Mum asking questions - it is ridiculously hard and an absolute minefield!

Always check with your GP but babies communicate by crying as they can’t speak. I know if hurt myself I’ll shout and swear but I won’t cry, whereas when I’m sad/upset I’ll cry. You’re responding to your baby when she communicates before they get upset and tears proper start.

My GP was lovely and didn’t laugh at all when I took my DC with concerns DC couldn’t understand my accent…….
