Is this a cold or hayfever?

Just posting on here in case anyone knows of any advice or tips!

A few days ago I started getting cold symptoms- just little things like a cough and a really dry throat. I gradually started to feel a bit run down too- nothing awful and I’ve been working all week so it can’t be that bad, but I just feel really tired and a bit miserable and grumpy- I can’t really put my finger on it, my body doesn’t hurt but I can just feel it there? my arms and legs are just sort of annoying me and I can feel them and they’re just bugging me and it’s like everything is annoying me

I definitely don’t have covid and other than that I feel fine. I’ve had flu before and felt much worse- with this I’ve been fine to go about my normal life but I just feel so run down.

Initially I thought it was just hayfever because it’s bad at the moment- I take antihistamines and a blue inhaler when I’m wheezy. Unfortunately I’m in an environment everyday that starts my hayfever (I’m a showjumper) so between grass, hay, dust, exercise, my horses, sawdust bedding, shavings, straw… the list goes on! Basically I use my blue inhaler a lot there. I’ve never had an asthma attack or an episode of not being able to breath, but I just feel really, really choked up- as if someone is sitting on top of me and it’s hard to get a good breath. As well as the blocked chest I get all the other hayfever symptoms too

So I don’t know if my symptoms this week are a cold or bug, or if it’s the hayfever playing up again. Antihistamines have helped a bit and I feel fine right now other than a bit run down, but I have the most dry throat and every time I talk it feels really dry and irritating. When it gets dry it makes me cough and it’s like a dry annoying cough. I’ve tried throat sweets, hot drinks, cold drinks, dough syrup… the list goes on. Does anyone know if there’s anything else I can take for the dry throat? It’s not sore but it’s really annoying me and we have family visiting tomorrow but I keep coughing or needing to drink after talking because my throat is so dry!

That should say cough syrup not dough syrup!

also just to describe the cough a bit more- it’s dry and one of those coughs that feels like it’s vibrating or buzzing in your chest when it coughs (hope that explained it)
