Away all weekend for work and doing the only part of my job that I hate! I’m a PR for a large UK long haul airline, we unlike some airlines allow onboard filming sometimes for TV shows and so on. So this weekend I’m escorting a film crew onboard one of our aircraft, the only part of my job I hate!! Flying out tonight, supervising and managing the filming onboard the plane, then 1 night in the US with the 6 members of the film crew and the 3 cast who are involved with the filming and then supervising their filming again on the flight back home!!! Someone help me!!! Out of everyone in the PR team they asked me to escort this film crew! It’s the only part of my job I don’t like, feel like crying right now

Which part do you need a handhold for, flying, working, or looking after film crew. Must admit when I first saw you needed a handhold, that it was for a serious life threatening medical condition, but I’m sorry if you are struggling, if it helps think this time in 3 days time it will be over.

I’m fine with flying. It’s escorting and managing the filming that I’m not looking forward to, it’s the only part of my job that I don’t like! And I have a lot of personal stuff going on too so just very emotional

And yeah it will all be over in 3 days but only until the next time

It sucks that you have to do this when you have personal stuff going on.

I've done this in the pas (not on planes, but similar) and my strategy is to almost act as a professional character.

It's not ME running around after them and sorting things out, it's a super professional/ polished / organised PR who has a perma smile. It's totally fake but it works. I enjoy it, but it still feels a massive relief when you can stop and slump.

Yeah this is what I’m going to try! Hopefully it works, wish me luck lol. Got to brief the crew before the Flight too on what filming we will be doing exactly. I normally sleep when flying but can’t these 2 times obviously. Let’s just hope it goes smoothly, last time I did this I had to assist the crew in dealing with an unhappy customer who was complaining about the (not very disruptive and not very loud) onboard filming. Far from my first time escorting on-board filming but I hate it every time

Will let you know how it goes, probably won’t be able to reply now until we get there but wish me luck please! Just at check in
