Travelling with a toddler

Hello,
It’s my first time posting on here as would like some advice.
My sister lives near Chester and I would really love to travel up there for a long weekend next weekend as they’re free (they’re pretty busy normally so it’s quite rare they have a free weekend).
My daughter (3) loves going to their house as it’s quite a bit bigger than ours and there’s lots to do. She also loves her cousins!
They live about a 3 and a half hour drive away which I gathered wasn’t too bad if we left Friday night and returned Monday morning. We would also stay at their’s as they have a few spare rooms so wouldn’t need to book a hotel.
However, my husband is reluctant to go as my sisters husband is working as usual (we looked at going another weekend but they’re pretty much busy everyday until September). He thinks it’ll be awkward if my sisters husband isn’t there as he won’t really have anyone to talk to. He gets on well with my sister and particularly likes her son who’s 16.
AIBU to ask him to come just for the weekend as I can’t really go on my own (not a very confident driver). I would love to see my sister (a lot has gone on recently) and my daughter would love it too!
TIA xx

Is the train an option?
