He left his jacket at my house a weeks back and I text him when he left as I realised he’d left it and he only lives down the road but he said it’s fine don’t worry it can stay there.

He has been at my house and before he left I asked him if he wanted to take his jacket and he was said ‘don’t worry it can just stay here’

why does he want it to stay at my house??
