How to get from gatwick

My friend is a idiot and will arrive at 1 am at gatwick during the strike can anyone tell me how on earth they can get to cambray road balham in London?

Google is only giving me the options if train, train and tube, taxi, car.
Years ago I arrived on a flight at 1 or 2 in the morning, no trains running where I needed to go so I sat it out in the airport until everything started up again at about 5, 5.30.

I've seen National Express coaches leaving the airport at all hours of the night, but that was pre-Covid.

If she pre-booked a cab from a firm local to her destination, it could well work out cheaper than getting an airport taxi.

National express to Streatham then uber to Balham?

When I lived near Balham it was usually about £50 to or from Gatwick in a local taxi.

If she's willing to hang about, there are currently 4 seats left on 6.25am National Express from Gatwick airport. Its just under £15. They all go to London Victoria and then it will have to be a bus (if she can find any that are running) or a cab to Balham.

Alternatively a cab from Gatwick.

National Express goes through Mitcham town centre (£9 or something) then you can swap onto the bus for Balham. Tell her to download citymapper for the bus numbers.

I have had a family member stay at mine from abroad and is currently at Gatwick waiting for her flight which leaves tomorrow morning.

Ahe went by national express and im in Wimbledon. We exhausted all travelling options and only national express coaches to and from gatwick seem to be going to victoria.

The 6.25 now sold out and next one is 6.55 at £35. Might as well get cab and hope they arent charging extra just because they know people have no alternatives

@FeedMeTiramisu I think the tram is running tomorrow? Your family member could have got the tram to Mitcham and then picked up the same national express bus to gatwick.
