How much spending money for this

So I am going to Edinburgh for 2 nights for a family get together, I dunno how much money I need?

A couple of hundred thousand should do it. Or if that's difficult perhaps £20?

Surely it depends on your itinerary?

It’s not a cheap city especially in the centre. Have you got accommodation sorted, and are you going to need to eat out 2/3 times a day. I’d easily allow £150 a day if you are.

It completely depends on your plans… staying with family, eating most meals in, family get together in a hall?
Staying in a hotel or self catering? Family get together in the Ivy, the Scotsman or The Balmoral? Etc

You can either camp in a tent on the edge on the city and pack loads and sanwiches and hitch-hike/walk into town each day and eat from blackberry bushes. Then you could prob get away with aboit £100 to cover everything.

or you could book a nice hotel and have fancy restaurant meals in which vase I’d take aboit £1000.

Either option would be good fun and an adventure!
