Aibu about tax free childcare account?

Struggling with HMRCs helpline and website which are giving conflicting info. I want to open a tax free childcare account to pay for wraparound care when my DD starts school in sept but I cannot until I next reconfirm in October. Is this correct?

why is it so complicated?

I thought you could open an account as long as you are working and meeting the income threshold.

I could pay into my tax free childcare account immediately after opening which was in the 31 days prior to me returning to work.

You should be able to open it now then just reconfirm in October that still eligible?

I've literally just opened a new one.

Do you have all your documentation?

Yes, but I was receiving childcare vouchers before. I have stopped receiving those and sent in evidence that I’ve stopped but it’s still not allowing me to open a tax free childcare account until the next re confirmation.

I am really confused as to why you need to reconfirm when you don’t have an account thoufh?
