To ask if you can recommend some trainers for Plantar fasilitis?

Got PF in one foot. Painful.

Think I need some good supportive trainers for sport. Can anyone recommend some?

Also if you suffer from it do you keep playing till its gone away or rest it?
Any other tips please?

I've got some arch support Sketchers which I find helpful. I have got some insoles from the podiatrist which I can only use for a short period of time.
I also have a foot massager which I find really helpful for my PF.

Find a local store that does gait analysis. They'll put you on a treadmill barefoot and in a variety of shoe types to work out the best for your particular physiology. There's no point me recommending my shoes, just because we both have PF, as you might pronate when I don't (for example).

The cost of the gait analysis is usually taken off the cost of any shoes if you buy from the store. Otherwise, I think the one I last had done would have been about £20. Cheaper than getting a shoe recommendation that turns out not to fit your feet, and you buy again.

I'd really recommend going into a running shop and having gait analysis and trying on shoes. It really is the best way.

Go to a shop like Runners Need and ask for a gait analysis. I found New Balance 1080s helped and gave me the right amount of support but ymmv. Running groups online always have tons of info on PF too.

Have you seen a physio? You need strengthening and stretching exercises but best to get some individual professional advice. In my experience it needed rest when really acute but otherwise was better if I exercised without overdoing it, but again ymmv and you should talk to an expert.
Also massive sympathy. It hurts and can take a while to go away.

My dear mother had this in both her feet, she swore by the brand fit flops!think they have trainers on there. Its like walking on air she says

I have this mine is caused by high arches and Ive found that nikes are the best to support. Although you couldn't pay me to wear sketchers or new balance in public so I don't know about them. The best treatment in general I've found though are inserts you wear at night they are basically a thick elastic strap with a ball that you place in your arch.

I am a fitflop person - only the original soles though. When I had heel pain I had all the gait analysis and what worked was stretching out my foot and my calf and using a foot roller every day for a month. The alternative that works for me is MBTs but they are shockingly expensive.

I wear Nike New Balance with some ortho insoles to further support my arches.

I also roll a rolling pin or tennis ball under that foot a couple times a day. Frigging agonising to start with but after a while the relief is palpable.

I have plantar fascitis in one foot and chiropodist recommended to me Vasyli blue insoles. Walking and dancing now more comfortable!

I had PF 10 years ago. Struggled with it for over 18 months with insoles, exercises etc. Didn't work. Every time it seemed to improve it would flare up again.
What did work was buying myself a pair of crutches and not putting any weight on the foot for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I came off the crutches and with gentle use for a couple of weeks, it's never troubled me again.

Brooks trainers made a huge difference for me. I was recommended Saucony but they gave me horrible arch blisters.

Plantar Fasciitis is more likely in people who have high arches or collapsed arches. I have the latter so I have to wear very supportive shoes or insoles all the time. FitFlops for example are the worst thing I could possibly wear as they are very flexible (by design), I need very structured support so they actually make mine worse, but for a different patient, they could be just right. This is why you need proper gait analysis or physio - it's not as simple as needing a more supportive shoe, it depends what type of support!

I had really painful pf in both feet. I've found fitflops to be really helpful for easing pain. However the best thing for recovery was cutting out sugar & refined grains, reduced inflammation has meant my feet have healed loads and I can now wear normal shoes. I still avoid anything that's very flat and have to be careful with anything like running.

Highly recommend the Brooks also. Expensive but last a long time so we’ll worth the investment.

I also wore only shoes with a low heel preferably wedge and it went away. The insoles didn’t do much for me.
