AIBU to buy a new fridge freezer when my old one still works?

Old fridge freezer is 20 years old and keeps things cold but I think is one of the biggest energy drains in my house

The motor seems to be going well over 50% of the time and the whole thing vibrates when it is running

Given the energy price increases would I be ridiculous to replace it now with a more efficient one?

I generally keep things until they are no longer repairable so I'm wrestling with this decision

Sell it, someone will have it, if it is still working.

I want a bigger fridge but my current one is relatively new, so also debating what to do.

We replaced our fridge, recently, because it was getting on a bit and not quite big enough. Gave the old one away on Nextdoor.

no but you could offer the old one for free on gumtree or something. I live near a landfill. The less we put in landfill the better.

Offer for free only. Fridge freezers often don’t fair well when moved!

Recently had my 70th. Taking the family for a holiday but said I didn't want presents so set up a Birthday GoFundme and raised over £500 for a small charity close to my heart.
