To wonder if anyone else is always at the bottom of the friendship hierarchy?

It isn’t that I don’t have friends, because I do, but I know I’m not really that important.

It tends to show itself in small ways, like if I’m running late they’ll walk on and I catch up, but if someone else is running late, they’ll wait for her. If I can’t make a meal out it’s a shame and never mind. If someone else can’t, it’s rearranged.

Anyone else? I’m not totally sure why … am nice enough (I think!)

I used to have one group of friends where it was a bit like this. I think part of the problem was that I did my best to be accommodating whereas not everyone else did. It got to the point where X would cancel so Y (who absolutely loved X) would then make up an excuse. After a bit of this, I started being a bit unavailable - when they suggested a date to rearrange I said something like “Unfortunately I’m not going to make that. I hope you all have a great time!”
