To ask when is the best time to get a space at the pool at Haven

Sorry I am posting for traffic!

We booked a last minute holiday at Blue Dolphin Haven, but all of the indoor swimming slots are fully booked. A member of staff told me that the outdoor pool doesn't require booking, just turn up, but if it's busy there might be a wait. I have a very wriggly and impatient 2yo who is not going to deal well with any kind of queueing.

I was wondering what the quieter times are at the outdoor pool there - bearing in mind it's school holidays and peak time! Should we just head there as soon as it opens or does it tend to have quieter times in the day?

This is why we never go to haven anymore. Who wants to book a swimming slot when you don’t need too at other (cheaper parks). Have no idea what their USP is anymore and we used to go every year prior to 2020. Zero spontaneity with their booking system and far too overpriced.

I happen to have been at the Haven in Burnham on Sea today - we were there from about 12 noon to about 5pm.

We noticed that at 1pm there was no queue at all for the outdoor pool.

This lasted for about 25 minutes and by the time we had got out swimming gear and got to the gate there were about 8 people in front of us - we had to wait approx 15 minutes.

The whole time we were there there was a queue of about 8/9 people apart from at about 4pm - not sure why at this point - naptime perhaps?

Incidentally I also used to notice this phenomenom at the tip - on Sundays it was always quiet at 1pm!

@Dalaidramailama it's rubbish isn't it. We got a cheap caravan last minute but this has definitely put me off. They make you buy the passes before you can see if there's any availability on the activities and even if there isn't, you can't get a refund on the passes! They stipulate that on their website.

The only reason I got the passes anyway is because my eldest is really looking forward to the Showbar etc, but I will be actively avoiding Haven in future.

Yes we did that bought passes which we essentially just got one swim for. It was an expensive swim put it that way. We have booked cheaper parks since and you don’t get any of that nonsense and can go swimming whenever you like etc.

We have got haven booked and yeah can already tell its going to be first and last time. The booking of swimming is annoying, although I have been to other campsites where you have had to do that it's still annoying, was very expensive, over £800for the week, and last but not least there is no WiFi on the park! Well there is they say on the website 'WiFi on site' but dig a bit further and it's just at the restaurant (that's fully booked all week) not in the caravans. If it rains all week like it's supposed to its going to be very annoying, have no idea what the signal is like so will hot-spot even work I have no idea. Honestly for the money on the caravan and the 700 for spending money I should have just booked us to go spain.

Have you actually been to guest services and asked re slots? When we stayed at Caister recently all the pre bookable slots had gone but when we went to guest services and complained they did manage to squeeze us in.
