Gross question incoming

namechangeforgrossquestion · 14/08/2022 11:59

Have been trying to conceive for around 6 months with nothing happening. I do have one blocked tube from endo.

Is it normal to have a lot of ' sperm leakage' 🤮 after sex? It seems excessive to me but I have no idea if this is normal? My knickers will be soaked with it. (Cringing as I type this)

Sorry for gross question but it's really making me panic thinking that it's related to the dodgy tube.

Liquefaction is normal. It’s not leakage, it’s by design.

SNWannabe · 14/08/2022 12:02

It’s normal. Get a mooncup or other menstrual cup and insert it after sex. Good luck- 6 months isn’t out of the normal range so don’t panic.

You don't need to do this at all. It's all normal. It's what's designed to happen.

Yes, really normal. When I was TTC, I used to lie for a good half hour or so afterwards with my bum propped up on a pillow. Don’t know if that actually helps or is just an Old Wives’ Tale but it made sense to me to keep the semen up in the relevant area for a period of time to give it the best chance to do its thing.

Tip hips up as high and for as long as possible and stay there to give it a good chance to go in the right direction! Worked both times for me x

On the other hand I just went for a wee as usual and wiped anything coming out away and got pregnant within 2 months both times I tried.

It's impossible to say if that worked or not.

Phew - glad I asked now!!

Thanks everyone.

I do keep my legs in the air to prevent it (the feeling of the leakage alone is gross!) but not holding out much hope until my blocked tube and endo is removed!

Been a long time since I last DTD but I recall sometimes it dribbled out a couple of hours after!

Been on some kind of magical mystery tour, no doubt.

BMW6 · 14/08/2022 15:26

I used to get it with bathwater too. Is it just me?
😐

Caitlin Moran talks about this in one of her books, she calls it the great vagina mono-log-flumes 😂

@BMW6

Definitely been on a magical mystery tour of my dodgy tube! 😂

Lol yes I also get it with bath water actually - didn't question that one 😂😂

Put a pad on afterwards

Strulch · 14/08/2022 15:58

Yep definitely normal. What goes up must come down 😂

LaughingCat · 14/08/2022 16:08

Ha! Yes…trickles flipping everywhere (usually around 3 seconds after I’ve left the damn loo!). I like the PPs idea of a mooncup though…has anyone else tried this?

AndSoFinally · 14/08/2022 16:17

What would be the point? It would just collect in the moon cup instead of your knickers. How long do you think your cervix is??!

SunnySwirl · 14/08/2022 16:49

I used my mooncup, then went to the gym and hung upside down on one of the benches in the weights area. Sounds bonkers. Worked first time

You have no idea if it helped at all. The swimmers do their job and go where they need to go, the rest comes out and isn't needed in the whole process.
