Hey all
Probably not an AIBU but here goes..

Me and my husband has sex earlier this evening. At some point during we realised the condom had broken, we stopped and replaced condom.

I've just had a look at my Flo app and apparently I'm ovulating, do also have some egg white like discharge and cervix feels slightly open so probably am ovulating!

Should I get the morning after pill just in case?
Husband didn't ejaculate whilst the broken condom was on but I am aware there may be sperm present before that.

Checked online and apparently the morning after pill isn't effective if you've already ovulated or about to!

Not sure what to do!

i would be amazed if you got pregnant from that but stranger things have happened so I’d take it for peace of mind I guess

iamshergar · 13/08/2022 22:55

actually rethinking it, I probably wouldn’t think it necessary!

Depends how relaxed you'd feel about getting pregnant. If not happy, then get the morning after pill.

Nicknacky · 13/08/2022 22:56

How can you tell your cervix feels open?

Why would you be amazed?

More than 40% of men have sperm present in pre ejaculate

Of course get the map. I've never heard anything about it "not being effective" depending on where in your cycle you are.

What else are you going to do - cross your fingers??

Nottherealmam · 13/08/2022 22:57

To be honest, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t if you don’t want/are not ready for kids! It’s easy to get in Boots (and probably elsewhere!) and doesn’t affect you negatively in other ways. Good luck!

The MAP works by preventing ovulation

If you have already ovulated it doesn't work effectively

Just because you've never heard of it doesn't make it any less true

Doesn't work if already ovulated... only thing that does is the copper coil up to 5 days after unprotected sex... can be fitted at family planning clinics.
