is there a wasps' nest?

overhanging vines in our garden from next door, on the fence. every summer the fence is not visible for the vines. But this year, just seen about 10 wasps around one part.

Is this likely a nest or could they just be gathering there?

If it's a nest the wasps tend to be going in and out all the time rather than hovering next to it. Keep an eye on it.

If they are not bothering you then nothing needs to be done - the wasps wi'll die off in autumn and they don't return to an old nest.

Are they going in and out of anywhere?

Thanks. I'm not sure what to do so wondered whether I need to get the housing association out. Or whether my neighbour needs to be told? Or will I sound ridiculous. Keeping an eye

What sort of vine, do you know? My grape vine gets covered in wasps this time of year (as they like to eat the grapes). It might just be something like that rather than a nest.

Could you just mention it fairly casually to your neighbour? A nest in a fence isn't likely to be problematic unless the wasps are stinging people.

I’ve got wasps swarming all over my plum tree at the minutes, like pp said, it’s likely they are just after the fruit/juice. I don’t have any nests in my garden but they still come to my plum tree.
