Nhs strike

I'm not a nurse I'm an ODP so the RCN industrial action won't apply to me but if unison ballot for strike action I think for the first time in my career I will be striking.

Anyone else?

I support my colleagues in their strike too. It will cause chaos in theatres.

It feels crazy to even think about Striking but enough is enough

I couldn't believe the rcn is actually doing something positive though! They're usually so slow

It isn't just the money. The conditions are horrendous, for us as staff and for patients. Something has to change.

To those mentioning pensions, they aren't as good as you think. No where near what they were worth. And many of us are now considering whether we can actually afford to continue paying into them at all.

Nurse of nearly 30 years here , I’m with unison 100%. The conditions and treatment of staff and patients on hospital wards is worst I’ve ever seen, with no sign of improvement. Rounds of applause were just a sticking plaster. I just hope staff vote for it but everyone is so downtrodden and worn out they’ve hardly any fight left ☹️

I support the strikes. Claps on the doorstep don’t pay the bills. This work is skilled and is vital for health and well-being of the nation, so pay and conditions should reflect this.

I heard on the news today that one day of NHS strike action can cause a 6 week backlog of surgery (something like that, I was only 1/2 listening).
Can someone explain why?
