Feel like I'm a horrible person for finding this annoying

It's my partner's friend's girlfriend. I've only met her once, it's just her social media presence which is irritating, so I unfollowed her which I feel bad for.
It's constant gushing essays about her 'favourite person'. 'you're the kindest person I've ever met' 'you're my favourite!' 'You're so patient with me!.' 'you never complained about having to look after me when I was sick!.'
Everything is 'magical' 'wonderful' 'beautiful' and so on.
Gushing posts like 'I can't believe how fortunate we are to once again be socialising after lockdown!"
I don't know why it really gets on my nerves, but I feel horrible about it.
It's like she's gushing about her partner having the bare minimum of qualities like kindness and patience. Just don't see the need for these constant gushy essays, and constant pictures of her pulling these daft poses.
I'd never be unkind to her in real life, this is simply a thought I keep to myself. Now I've unfollowed her today it should be better anyway. Am i just horrid?

You are just different to her? Not end of the world is it now. No one needs to follow anyone they don't enjoy. Beauty of SM is the control.

You will now get 734 posts about how she is obviously very unhappy, fakes everything and ut must be cries for help or whatnot.

Not sure if unfollowing a person someone met once is worth all the anguish in here unless the above is the goal...

YABU for being bothered enough to post on MN about unfollowing someone on social media

Unless you're 12 this isn't a normal pattern of thought

Christin3 · 11/08/2022 13:09

Just unfollow or mute and forget her. You're unlikely to have to deal with her very often. Get over it and move on.

SisterRuth · 11/08/2022 13:14

Yuck! I'd feel exactly the same. It's worse when the gushy people do it in person tho & try to make out you're the weird one for not being over the top - "oh hun, you're sooooo quiet, are you OK?" when you're just aghast at how false & sickly sweet they're being. You've probably literally killed her by unfollowing her but good on you.

SpilltheTea · 11/08/2022 13:17

You've unfollowed her. Why are you still moaning about her content? Move on, I'm sure she won't lose sleep over it.

10HailMarys · 11/08/2022 13:18

It's not a big deal to unfollow someone? You don't even have to 'unfriend', you can stay friends and just unfollow and she won't even know. So yeah, YANBU to find her irritating but you YABU to make such a fuss about this non-issue.

Thedivinyls · 11/08/2022 13:33

I think i realised it bothered me because I wondered if maybe she's just a much nicer person than I am as I'm not someone who really says stuff like that or sees everything as 'magical' etc. But it shouldn't as it's not a measure of niceness or kindness surely
