Please please help me- is this normal with a UTI?

long but I would really appreciate any advice or reassurance that this is normal.

I’ve had on and off female problems for at least a year. It kept self resolving and starting up again, and I had other unrelated health concerns I was trying to sort so this took a back seat but its changed slightly and I don’t know whether to be concerned or not.

I get UTI symptoms a lot- usually cloudy wee, feeling like I need to go when I don’t, stinging to pee. But I also get other symptoms that would be more in line with BV or thrush- discharge which is usually white or yellowish/greenish, and sometimes watery discharge. I’ve never been sure whether it’s thrush, BV, UTI or a combination but it usually resolved itself after a week or 2, and then started up again 2-6 weeks later. I kept meaning to go to a doctor but it’s so hard to get an appointment and I work during the week so I can’t phone and wait for ages.

Anyway, I had some symptoms over the last fortnight- lots of white discharge, yellowish staining in my underwear, cloudy wee. Just the usual. But I didn’t have any pain or discomfort or feeling like I needed to wee when I didn’t. The symptoms resolved and I’ve been fine for the last week roughly.

But yesterday after work, I noticed some blood in my underwear- not loads, more like spots or splodges. I wasn’t sure if it was my period starting or if the blood was from my urethra/wee. when I was weeing it was completely normal and no blood but when I wiped it was light pink so I presumed the blood was from my wee not period but I’m still not 100% certain.

Today it’s happened again- splodges of blood in my underwear except this time when I weed there was blood in it. The wee was normal colour and wasn’t stained red with blood, it was more like there was strings of blood floating in it? It just looked like a big cluster of strings and it’s pink again when I wipe

Wtf is this? Is this normal with a UTI (presumably that’s what this is) I’ve never had bleeding with one before and i got a fright when I saw it. I don’t have any pain or discomfort at all and it doesn’t sting or hurt to wee, but I’ve got myself worried about it and don’t know if it’s normal or not! I’ve googled but some websites say it’s normal and others say it’s not.

Meant to say- I post regularly on MN but I’ve NC for obvious reasons as it’s personal

I’m certain the blood is from my wee rather than period but I’ve used a tampon so that next time I wee I can work out where the blood is from, but im certain it’s not my period starting

I had a UTI with blood in my wee. Turned out the infection was tracking up to my kidneys and it was very good I got it treated as fast as I did.
If you have backache it's something to consider.

Have you seen a doctor?

Sounds like you need antibiotics pronto before you end up with a serious kidney infection. Call the GP tell them your symptoms.

You also need to get to the bottom of why this keeps happening, you can buy a BV test on line / in Boots.

I've had blood in my pee with a UTI, I think that's a fairly usual symptom though alarming when it first happens.

You really need to see the dr and get antibiotics, UTIs can lead to kidney infections and even sepsis if left untreated. Once you've finished the ABs get some high strength cranberry tablets for prevention.

You'll probably find you won't need to see the GP, they'll prescribe over the phone but ask you to drop a urine sample in to be sent off for testing. At the very least use an online gp service, it's really important you get it treated. Repeated infections can lead to scarring too which can cause you problems in the future. I hope you get it sorted, UTIs are miserable.
